2020 Crumbling Rock
Our 2020 Crumbling Rock is smooth, full-bodied, and complex. It is juicy and delicious, boasting flavors and aromas of dark berries, cherry, plum, tobacco and pepper spice, and vanilla. Its smooth finish lingers on and on, enticing us to savor each sip. The mouthfeel is bold and rich, yet elegant and smooth. The perfect dinner table wine for your soon-to-be-crafted fall dishes but will also only get better with age.

2020 was a very, very nice growing year. We experienced our biggest harvest ever due to our recent plantings yielding fruit. We believe the quality of the 2020 is better than 2019 (which was also superb!) and that the reds are showing lovely concentration although maybe not as concentrated (or as huge) as the 2019s. We were able to make our Crumbling Rock, Leaf Stone, and other premium reds as well as bring back customer favorites like Rolling Hills and Viento. Cheers to a very solid year: good concentration, very nice wines.

Estate-grown and sustainably grown on our 146 acre farm, our grapes are tended by hand throughout the growing season and are harvested by hand in the fall. Crumbling Rock is one of our preeminent reds, one of several Bordeaux-Style reds. We will use varying portions of our Bordeaux grape varieties (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot) in making our Crumbling Rock. While the blending varies vintage to vintage, we always strive to make Crumbling Rock “feel” the same way: rich, elegant, smooth – a full mouthfeel.
